Pargaon Tarfe Ale Farmers Producer Company Limited is right there at house number 97/6 in the Gaothan area of Pargaon. Being in the Pune district gives us a bit of a different perspective since the markets are a bit closer, but the work is still just as hard. We are based near Ale Phata, which is a busy spot for agriculture. Our group is made up of people who live and work right here in the village. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity with a lot of rules. We just wanted to have a collective voice when it comes to our crops. There’s a lot of activity here during the harvest season. You’ll see trucks coming and going and people busy with sorting. Our office is a modest spot in the gaothan where we keep track of who brought what. It’s not always organized perfectly, but we know where everything stands. We don’t have a marketing budget or people to write speeches for us. We speak the way we do in the fields. Some of our members grow vegetables and others focus on fruit. It depends on the patch of land they have. We spend a lot of time discussing the weather and the latest rates at the mandi. It’s just basic, everyday work for us. We are just trying to make a living and keep our traditions alive for ourselves and our kids.
