Oriental Rubber Industries Ltd is based out in Shikrapur. It is a fair distance away from the main city traffic, which gives us more room to operate. The area is quite open and has that industrial feel that you only get on the outskirts. We have a lot of space here at the plant, which is necessary because the work we do with rubber takes up a lot of room and involves some heavy machinery. The air in Shikrapur usually smells a bit like dust and rain, but inside the factory, it is all about the rubber. It is a big operation and there is always something moving, whether it is a forklift or a delivery truck coming in. Most of us have a long commute to get here, so the day starts early and ends when the sun is already going down. The building is practical and built for hard work, so you won't find any soft carpets or fancy lobbies here. It is mostly concrete, steel, and the sound of production lines running. We have a lot of people working here from the surrounding villages, and it feels like a very grounded place to be. When the weather is good, we usually take our breaks outside to get some fresh air away from the heat of the machines. It is a straightforward, tough environment, and we have been part of the Shikrapur industrial landscape for a long time.
