Orange Beauty Salon

We opened up Orange Beauty Salon over in Kaspate Vasti a while back. It’s right there at Shop No.2 in Venketeshwara Niwas. You can find us pretty easily since we are close to Chatrapati Chowk. Most mornings start with us opening the shutters and getting the chairs ready. It’s a small place, nothing too fancy, just a local spot in Dakshta Nagar where people come to get their hair done or a quick threading. Sometimes it gets busy on weekends, especially when there are weddings nearby in Pune. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The mirrors need cleaning constantly, and the floor always has hair on it by noon. It's just how it goes here. People from around the neighborhood drop by, some have been coming since we first started. We know most of them by name now. It’s mostly about keeping things simple. We have our regulars who like their tea while waiting. The lighting in the shop is okay, but we try to keep it bright enough. We stay open until late evening most days.
