Onkar Mens Parlour

Onkar Mens Parlour is situated on the main road of Kasba Peth, right near where it meets Mangalwar Peth. It’s an old-school kind of place. We have the big, heavy barber chairs that have been there for years. The mirrors are a bit spotted with age, but they still work fine. Men from the neighborhood come here for their regular haircuts and shaves. It’s a simple shop. There is a small radio that we keep on for some background noise, and we usually have a couple of local newspapers for people to read while they wait. The floor is usually covered in hair by mid-morning, so we keep a broom handy. We don't do all those fancy spa treatments you see in the big malls. We just do proper cuts and clean shaves. I’ve lived in this part of Pune my whole life, so I know most of the people who walk past the door. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside the shop when it’s quiet and watch the traffic go by. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. We don't have an air conditioner, but the ceiling fan works well enough. People come here because it’s familiar and they know they’ll get a decent haircut without any fuss. It’s just a traditional mens parlour that has been part of the street for a long time. We like it that way.
