Omshanti Clinic

Omshanti Clinic is situated in Pune. It’s a city that never really stops moving, but our little corner here is a bit different. We have been around for some time, just taking things one day at a time. The clinic is not very large, so we have to be careful about how we use the space. We have some chairs for people to sit while they wait their turn. Most of the people who come in are from the nearby buildings and shops. You get to know faces after a few months. Pune has its own way of living, especially with the traffic and the rain during the monsoon season. When it rains hard, we sometimes get a bit of water near the door, and we have to keep mopping it up. It’s just part of the routine here. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who handle everything from the cleaning to the paperwork. The files are kept in a wooden cabinet that’s been here forever. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings us some chai when it's quiet. It's an honest place where we don't try to be anything we aren't. We just show up, open the doors, and do what needs to be done until it’s time to go home. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy and connected to the people around us. We are just a local clinic doing what we do.
