You can find us at Asawari, over in Nanded City. It’s part of the Sinhagad Road-Vadgaon Budruk area in Pune. Being based in Nanded City is nice because it’s a bit away from the main city chaos, though it’s still busy enough. Omkar Kulkarni Architects & Interior Designer is just our small team working on various homes and shops. We spend a lot of time walking around sites and looking at how walls are being built. Our office is a practical space. We have our drafting boards and a couple of computers. It’s not about looking fancy; it’s about getting the proportions right. We talk to homeowners about where they want their cupboards or how the light comes in through the windows. Pune has a lot of new buildings coming up, and we stay busy trying to keep up with the demand. We don't use any high-level marketing talk. We just show people what we’ve done before and tell them how long it will take. Sometimes projects get delayed because of the rain or labor issues, and we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a hands-on job. We like the feeling of seeing a plan finally turn into a real room. We’ve been here in 411041 for a while now and know the local suppliers pretty well. It’s just a steady, daily grind of making spaces work better for people. We keep some extra helmets in the corner for when we visit construction zones.
