Nivalicha Shetkari Agro Business Producer Company Limited

Our office is located in Nivali, over in the Latur district. We're at Rajaram Kishan Jain’s place. It’s a typical rural setup. Latur is known for its agriculture, and we’re right in the middle of it. We focus on the agro business side of things for the local farmers. The building is simple, just like everything else around here. We don't have a big sign out front. Most people just know where to find us. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or sitting on the porch talking to the members. It gets really hot in Latur, so we try to get most of the heavy work done early in the morning. We have a lot of files and maps of the local plots. It’s a lot to keep track of. The company was set up to help organize things better for the village. We’re not experts in business, but we know farming. Sometimes we struggle with the technology or the new regulations, but we figure it out eventually. It’s a slow process. We have tea together every morning before we start the day. It’s a community thing more than a corporate thing. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay. It’s just a group of us working hard to keep things going in Nivali.
