Down in Nimgaon, which is in the Malshiras area of Solapur, you will find us at Raoso B. Magar’s place. It is house number 914. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to team up to see if we could do things a bit better. Solapur can be a tough place to farm because it gets so dry during the year. We spend a lot of our time talking about water and how to keep the soil healthy for the crops. This is not a polished business with a receptionist or a lobby. It is just us sitting in the shade talking about our daily work. We use the name Nimgaon Agrotech because it sounds official for the paperwork, but to us, it is just our collective. We try to help each other out with seeds and getting the produce to the market in town. Sometimes the prices are good and sometimes they are not, and we just have to live with that reality. We do not have any big promises to make to anyone. We just work hard and hope for the best with each harvest we put in the ground. If you come by the post office in Nimgaon and ask for Raoso, people will point you the right way. We are just regular people trying to make a go of it in the fields. It is not always pretty, but it is our life.
