We are over in Bhawani Peth at house number 838. It is a busy part of Pune and we see a lot of people passing by every single day. The shop is small but we keep it clean and ready for anyone who needs a quick trim or a shave. My father started things years ago and now I just keep the chairs filled and the scissors moving. It’s not a fancy place with big lights or anything like that. We just have the basic mirrors and some old fans that keep the air moving when it gets hot in the afternoons. Most of the people who come here live just down the street or work in the nearby markets. We talk about the weather or how the local cricket matches are going while I work. Sometimes the chai wala stops by and we take a five minute break. It is honest work and I like seeing the same faces month after month. You know how it is in a local neighborhood, everyone knows everyone eventually. We don't have a website or anything, just the sign out front and the door is usually open. If the chair is empty, you just sit down and we get started. It’s a simple routine that has worked for us for a long time now. We just try to do a decent job so people come back when their hair gets too long again.
