New Modern Salon

You can find New Modern Salon at Shop No. 2 on Sinhagad Road in the Dattawadi area. It’s a straightforward barber shop that’s been serving the local guys for quite some time now. We’ve got the usual setup with the rotating chairs and big mirrors. It’s a small shop, so it can get pretty crowded on the weekends when everyone wants a shave or a haircut before the work week starts. We don’t have any of those fancy coffee machines or lounge areas. There’s just a simple bench for people to sit and wait while they read the morning newspaper. Sinhagad Road is always noisy with buses and cars, and you can hear the traffic from inside the shop. We just focus on doing a decent job with the scissors and the clippers. Most of the people who come here have been visiting us for years, and we’ve seen their kids grow up. It’s not a corporate chain where they rush you through to get to the next person. We take our time even if there’s a bit of a line. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we’re constantly sweeping it up. It’s a humble place, and we don’t pretend to be anything else. We just like cutting hair and chatting with the people from the neighborhood. It’s been our home for a long time and we know the street well. Just a simple shop for a simple haircut.
