If you ever walk down toward the Dosti Bakery in Plmpuri, you will see Sakshi Garment at number 101. It is quite easy to find the place because the smell of fresh biscuits and bread from the bakery next door is usually drifting right into our shop. We sell a variety of clothes here, mostly a mix of things for children and some stuff for adults too. The shop itself is not very big, so we end up having to stack the boxes of new garments pretty high toward the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there is hardly any room to move when a new shipment arrives and we haven't managed to sell the older stock yet. We don't have those expensive mannequins like the ones you see in the big shopping malls. We just hang the shirts up on the walls or fold the pants on the wooden tables for people to look through. Plmpuri is a busy neighborhood, and the street outside is always noisy with scooters and people walking by. We spend a lot of our time just talking with the customers who wander in or trying to keep the dust from settling on the clothes. It is a family-run business, so you might see different family members behind the counter depending on what time you visit. We don't really have any big corporate goals or expansion plans. We just want to sell enough clothes to keep the business going and maybe buy ourselves a nice treat from the bakery every now and then. It’s just a normal shop in a local spot.
