Navumed Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is our group here in Nimgaon Mhalumngishirur. We are just a bunch of women farmers from the 412209 area who wanted to do something together. Running a farm is hard enough, but trying to sell what you grow can be even harder when you’re on your own. That’s why we set this up at our local post. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, we just meet up and talk about what needs to be done for the season. We deal with all the stuff like getting seeds and figuring out where to send our produce. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we help each other out. We aren't looking to become some massive brand. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that our village stays productive. Most of us have been farming since we were little, so we know the ground pretty well. We keep things simple and honest. If a crop fails, we deal with it. If it’s a good year, we celebrate a bit. It’s just the reality of living in a place like Shirur. We’re just regular people working the soil and trying to make this producer company a useful thing for everyone involved. It’s about sticking together when things get tough and helping each other through the long days.
