National Gift Shop

I run National Gift Shop at 4 Shivneri Plaza. The address says L.P. Savani Road in Adajan, but it’s also listed as being in Surat Kothrud, which sometimes confuses people when they look for us. We are right here in the plaza though. It’s a decent-sized shop for a gift place. I’ve got shelves lining every wall. I started this place because I wanted to have a shop that sold a little bit of everything. We have toys, some home decor stuff, and lots of stationery that works as gifts too. The plaza gets a fair amount of foot traffic, especially in the evenings when families are out for a walk. I do the cleaning and the stocking myself mostly. I don’t like it when the shelves look messy, though they often do after a busy Saturday. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know what the local families are looking for. I don't use any big marketing tricks. I just put a few nice things in the window and hope people like them. The lighting in the shop is a bit dim in the corners, but it makes it feel cozy, I think. It’s just a regular local business. I try to be helpful when someone can’t decide what to buy, but mostly I just let people browse at their own pace. It’s been a good few years here and I hope to stay for more. There’s something nice about seeing a kid find the perfect toy for their friend.
