Our group, Namdeo Rananavare (Guruji) Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located over at Narayan Balaso Rannvare’s place in Bothe. It’s part of the Kulakjai post area in Taluka Man. We are out here in Satara district, just trying to make a living from our farms. The name comes from a respected figure here, and we try to work with that spirit. It’s mostly just a few of us neighbors who realized we could do more if we pooled our resources. Farming out here in Man can be pretty dry and difficult. We spend most of our mornings in the fields and then maybe meet up later to talk about the company. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a house where we keep our records and talk about things like grain prices and tractor repairs. Every year is a bit of a gamble with the weather, but that’s just how it is. We grow what we can and try to help each other get the harvest in. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We’re just local people. If you come by Bothe, you’ll see the fields and the simple way we do things. We just want to keep the farms running for the next generation without too much trouble from the middle men. It’s about being fair to each other and hoping for a good season.
