Mourya Lemon Company

Our place is called Vazira Aashiyana, located at 1793 near the railway station in Vadgaon-Maval. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains go by all day long, but it’s convenient for transport. We deal with lemons. It’s a seasonal thing in some ways, but we stay busy year-round. The smell of citrus is pretty much everywhere here. We have a space where we sort things out and get them ready for the market. It’s a local operation, and we’ve been part of the Vadgaon-Maval community for a long time. People around the station know us. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It’s just us, some crates, and the fruit. Some mornings start very early when the loads come in. We have to check the quality and make sure everything is fresh. It’s physical work, and your hands get tired after a while. The office part is just a small corner where we keep the books. We don't use fancy software, just pen and paper mostly, and a basic computer for the essentials. It’s a humble business, but it keeps us going. We know our lemons, and we know the farmers around here. It’s just how we live and work in this town. We don't bother with fancy titles. We just make sure the lemons get to where they need to go before they lose their freshness. It’s a simple life, but we are used to the rhythm of the trains and the fruit seasons.
