Mountain Route Vineyards Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated in the Nashik region, specifically around G.No.110/1 near Bankar Malamahadeopur. Nashik is famous for grapes, and that is what most of us here spend our lives doing. The name comes from the paths we take through the hills to get to our vineyards every morning. We are not a corporate winery with a tasting room and fancy labels. We are a group of growers who realized that we are stronger together than we are on our own. Growing grapes is a delicate business, and one bad season of rain or hail can ruin everything. By forming this company, we share the load a little bit. We talk about the soil, the water, and how to get our fruit to the markets without it getting spoiled or sold for nothing. It is a lot of trial and error for us. None of us went to business school; we learned everything by doing it in the dirt and watching the vines grow. We meet up near Bankar’s place to discuss our plans for the next harvest.
