You can find us over on Jangli Maharaj Road, right near Karve Road in the Deccan area of Pune. We are in that lane right next to Shivsagar, which means we can always smell the food cooking when lunch time rolls around. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise from the traffic and people walking by outside. The lane itself is a bit narrower, so it stays a little cooler than the main road. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the building is familiar to most people who live around here. Inside, the rooms are filled with old desks and stacks of papers that seem to grow every week. We have a few fans that hum quite loudly, but you get used to the sound after a few minutes. It is a practical space, nothing too modern or fancy, just what we need to get through the daily lessons at Monika Classes. Most of the time, the students come in after school, looking a bit tired but ready to sit down and open their books. We keep some spare chalk and markers in the drawer, though we’re always looking for the one that actually works. It gets a bit hectic in the evenings when everyone arrives at once, but we manage to find a seat for everyone. It’s just our little corner in 411004 where we do our thing every day without much fuss.
