Mokhare Farmers Agro Producer Company Limited is based in Samsherpur, which is in the Akole Taluka of Ahmednagar. We operate out of Gangadhar Nabhaji Mokhare’s place. Akole is a beautiful area, but the farming can be quite rugged because of the landscape. We are just a group of local people who grow things and decided to register as a producer company to make things a bit more official. We spend most of our time out in the fields, so the office in Samsherpur is mostly for handling the bits of paper that the government requires. We don't have a professional manager or a marketing team. It’s just us, the farmers, trying to figure out how to get a better deal for our produce. We talk a lot about the water situation and how the hilly terrain affects what we can grow. It’s a lot of hard work, and we don’t always get it right, but we try to help each other out. If someone has a problem with their crop, we talk about it at the next meeting. It’s a very simple, local way of doing business. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure that the people in our village can keep farming and making a living without too many struggles. That's the main thing for us.
