Mohini Novelties

Our shop is near Jay Maharashtra Chowk, right by Om Hospital. It's easy to find if you know Alandi Road. We sell a bit of everything, mostly small things people need for their homes or gifts. It’s Mohini Novelties. We started out small and just kept adding more shelves as we went along. Sometimes it feels a bit crowded in here with all the hair clips, bangles, and small toys. Kids like to stop by after school to see what new stickers or pens we have. It gets busy in the evenings when people are heading home to Bhosari or Versova. We try to keep the stock fresh, but sometimes things sit for a while. We aren't a big supermarket, just a local spot where you can grab a birthday card or some thread. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache, especially when the delivery truck gets stuck in traffic near Sinhagad Road or Andheri West. My wife helps with the accounts because I’m not great with the numbers part. We’ve been at this for several years now. You see the same faces every week. It’s nice knowing the neighbors. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer. Sometimes we have a tea break when it’s slow. It’s just a regular business. We try to keep things organized but with so many small items, it’s a bit of a struggle. It's part of life in Aram Nagar 2.
