Modak And Pangarkar Architect

We are based out of Phule Nagar on Alandi Road in Pune. The office is run by Modak and Pangarkar. It is a straightforward kind of place without any bells or whistles. Alandi Road is usually quite busy and a bit dusty with all the construction and heavy vehicles moving through the area. We have a small sign, but it is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Inside, it is mostly just the two of us and a couple of assistants sitting at long wooden tables. We have these old-fashioned drafting boards that we still use sometimes because we like the feel of a real pencil on paper. The computers are there too, of course, humming away in the corner. We have a lot of site maps and zoning documents rolled up in cardboard tubes in the corner. The floor is made of simple tiles that have seen a lot of foot traffic over the years. We do not have any fancy art on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a few photos of sites we have worked on. We spend a lot of time on the phone with contractors or trying to figure out why a particular measurement isn’t adding up. Tea comes around twice a day from the local vendor. It is a routine that works for us. We aren’t a big firm with a glossy brochure; we just do our work here and go home.
