We run a bakery business out of Sonawane Wasthi. Our spot is on Jotibanagar Road at Gat No 1542, Plot No 2. It's a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from around this part of town, but we like the space we have. Baking is a lot of hard work. We start while most people are still asleep to make sure everything is fresh. The smell of bread is usually the first thing you notice when you walk in. We aren't a high-end boutique bakery with gold-leaf cakes. We make things that people actually eat for breakfast or tea. The ovens are old but they work fine if you know how to handle them. We spend a lot of time cleaning up flour and washing trays. It’s a messy business, to be honest. Our team is small, just a few of us who know the recipes by heart. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out perfect, and we have to start over. That's just how it goes with baking. The road outside gets dusty in the summer, so we keep the doors shut tight. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just focus on the dough and the heat. It’s a simple life, and we are happy enough with our little plot in Sonawane Wasthi. We just take it one day and one loaf at a time.
