Memories

The shop is called Memories and we are located at Shop Number 14 in the Sidhart part of Royal Tower. It’s on Nagar Road, right across from the Reebok showroom in Viman Nagar. Being near Bhosari too, we get people from all over. It’s a gift shop, mostly. We have cards, photo frames, and those little things people buy to remember a day. The name fits, I guess. The front window gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, so some of the wrapping paper on the display items has faded a bit. I need to swap those out more often. The traffic on Nagar Road is always heavy, so there’s a constant hum of engines outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. I try to keep things arranged nicely, but with so many small items, it’s hard. We’ve got shelves of mugs and soft toys that I have to dust every single day. It’s just part of the routine. Sometimes people come in just to look around and stay for a while because of the air conditioning. I don't mind. I spend a lot of time behind the glass counter, taping up packages or writing out receipts. It’s a small business, and it’s just me running the show most of the time. It isn't a huge place, but it's ours and it keeps me busy from morning till night. I usually keep a small plant by the window, but it struggles with the exhaust from the road. We try to make it nice for everyone.
