Finding us can be a little tricky if you aren't from around Shukrawar Peth. We are at Yadav Bhavan, 602/13, right near where the Vanraj Ganpati Mandal sets up. It is a busy part of the neighborhood, especially during the festivals. The shop, Meera Gift Articals, is tucked away near Gobind Nagar on the road that leads to P A U Gate Number 3. It’s a small space, but we make it work by using every inch of the walls. I spend a lot of my day unpacking small trinkets and figuring out where to put them so people can see them. The area has a lot of history and you can feel it in the old buildings around us. Most of our visitors are locals who live just a few streets away. They come in looking for something simple for a family gathering or a small gift for a neighbor. It’s not the kind of place with bright neon lights or loud music. We just keep the door open and wait for whoever walks in. Sometimes it’s quiet for hours, and I just sit and watch the bikes go past the gate. Then suddenly three or four families will show up at once. It keeps things interesting. We try to keep a variety of things, even if the shop is small. It’s just a regular part of the lane here and we have been doing this for a long time now.
