At Vadgoensheri Karave Road 48, we run a small place for Mathematics Classes. It’s right on the road, so it’s easy to find, though the parking can be a bit of a headache during the evening rush. We have been here for a good while now. The room is filled with some old wooden desks we got from a local furniture sale. They aren't the prettiest things to look at, but they are solid and steady. We teach math in a way that isn't too scary or overwhelming for the kids. Most of the students who come here are just trying to keep up with their daily schoolwork. We don’t have a big team of professional teachers. It’s mostly just me and one assistant who helps out on the weekends. We spend a lot of our time drawing diagrams on the board and checking through piles of homework. The windows stay open to let in a breeze, which means we get some of the street noise from the cars, but we don't really mind it. It feels like we are part of the neighborhood. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or interactive boards. We just use the basics like chalk and paper. It’s a very grounded way of teaching that seems to work for the kids around here. People from the Karave Road area know us well by now. We aren't trying to be a big chain. We just like math and we like helping students figure out their equations. We close up around seven most nights.
