Mamta Varieties

If you walk down the main parts of Yerwada, you will eventually find us at number 191. Mamta Varieties is just a regular shop that has been part of the street for years. We sell a little bit of everything. From sewing thread to plastic buckets, the shelves are pretty much packed from the floor to the ceiling. It is not the most organized place in the world, but we usually know where everything is hidden. The street outside is always full of traffic and the sound of horns, so we have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. Most of the time, the front door is just propped open with a brick to let some air in. People from the nearby houses come here when they run out of something small or need a specific bit of hardware. We know most of the families around Yerwada quite well by now. We spend our mornings dusting the items and making sure nothing has fallen over during the night. It is a simple job and it keeps us busy from morning until we pull the shutters down at night. We don't have a website or anything like that because we prefer just talking to people face to face. It feels more natural that way and it has worked for us for a very long time.
