We are located at B/5 in Chinchwad East. Mamata Variety is just a small local shop that sells a little bit of everything. I opened this place because I wanted to work for myself and be close to home. Chinchwad East is a good neighborhood, and we’ve been here for quite a while now. The shop is packed with shelves, and I try to keep them full of things people use every day. It might look a bit cluttered to someone walking in for the first time, but I know where everything is. From household items to small toys or stationery, we have a mix. Some days are slow and I just sit and listen to the radio, while other days everyone seems to come in at once. I don’t have a big staff, usually it’s just me or a family member helping out. We don’t do much advertising, mostly people just see us as they walk by or hear about us from their neighbors. The building is an older one, but it stays cool in the summer. It’s a basic business, no frills or anything like that. I just want to provide what the local folks need without them having to travel too far. It’s a steady way to make a living, and I enjoy talking to the people who stop by. We’re just a part of the local street here. I try to keep the dust off the items, but it's a never-ending task. I'm usually here until eight to catch the people coming home from the factories.
