Our place is at 73/1 Bhagya Nagar in Latur. This is Mahamanav Farmer Producer Company Limited. Latur is a big hub for pulses like dal and also oilseeds like soy. Because we are right here in the city area of Bhagya Nagar, it’s easy for people to find us. We aren't some big multi-national firm; we’re just a bunch of locals who know the pulse market quite well. The office is usually busy with people coming in to talk about their harvest or to see what the current rates are. We have a lot of conversations about the soil and how the lack of water sometimes hits us hard in this part of Maharashtra. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a farmer has a problem with their crop, they come here and we see if we can find a solution together. It’s not a polished business environment. You might see some dust on the desks and stacks of papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. We started this because we wanted to have a collective voice in the market. It’s hard to do things alone, so being a producer company makes sense for us. We don't have any grand speeches to give. We just work day by day, helping the people who grow the food to get it to the people who eat it. Latur is our home and we’re just doing our part.
