Mahalingeshwar Varieties

We are located right here in Nanded. It’s a place where we keep a bit of everything on the shelves, which is why the name Mahalingeshwar Varieties seemed to fit. The shop is usually a bit crowded because we try to fit a lot of different stock into a small space. People from all over the town come in looking for small bits and pieces for their homes or for work. We don't really have a big staff here, it is mostly just family and a couple of helpers who have been with us for a while. The days can be very long, especially when it is market day in Nanded and everyone is out. We start early to get the shutters up before the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. There is no air conditioning in the shop, just a couple of old fans that we keep running. It gets noisy with all the chatter from the street outside. We’ve been doing this for quite a while now. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for years. They stop by to buy something small and usually stay for a quick talk about the weather or the town. It’s a simple way to run a business. We don't spend money on big signs or any marketing. People know where we are. Sometimes we get big deliveries that take up the whole floor and we have to jump over them.
