Mahalaxmi Novelty

Working in Shukrawar Peth is an experience because it is one of the busiest parts of the old city. Mahalaxmi Novelty is tucked away in Laxmi Narayan Market at number 224/1557. It is the kind of place where the lanes are narrow and you have to be careful not to bump into anyone. The market is always full of energy, with sellers shouting and customers looking for a deal. We have been in this spot for a long time. The walls are a bit old and the ceiling is low, but it has a lot of character. We know all the other shopkeepers around us, and we usually share a pot of tea in the afternoons. It gets very crowded on the weekends, making it hard to even walk through the front door sometimes. The smell of the market is a mix of everything from spices to old paper. We don't have much in the way of modern decor; it is mostly just shelves and desks piled with stuff. There is a certain rhythm to the day here that you don't get in the newer parts of town. Most of our neighbors have been here for decades. At 224/1557, we just try to keep things organized as much as we can in the middle of all the chaos. It is a loud, messy, and wonderful place to spend the day. We wouldn't really want to be anywhere else because this is where the heart of the city is.
