Madhvi Make Up Artist

I work as a make-up artist here in Bhawani Peth, at Survey No 252. My place is right near the Bhavani Mata Mandir Chowk, so it’s easy for people to find me during the wedding season. I go by Madhvi, and I’ve been doing this for a long time. I don't have a big studio; I usually work out of my home or travel to the bride's house with my kit. The kit is quite heavy because I carry everything from brushes to different types of foundations. Bhawani Peth is a traditional part of Pune, and I love the atmosphere here, especially during festivals. My room is often filled with clothes and jewelry when I'm preparing for a client. I don't use social media much to show off my work. Most of my clients are daughters or sisters of people I’ve worked with before. It’s all about trust in this business. Sometimes I have to wake up at four in the morning to get someone ready for an early ceremony. It can be exhausting, but I’m used to the routine. The area near the Mandir Chowk is always buzzing with activity. I don’t have a fancy business card or a website. People just call my mobile and we fix a time to meet. It’s a personal way of doing things, and it has worked for me for years. I enjoy the creative side of it and seeing the transformation. It keeps me going.
