The Shoe Park

We are located at No. 318 on M. G. Road, right across from Kumar Plaza in the Camp area. It’s a prime spot, but that also means it’s always crowded and a bit chaotic outside. The Shoe Park is basically a long room with shelves from top to bottom. We have boxes stacked everywhere, and sometimes it’s a struggle to find the matching pair in the back room. The front window gets a lot of sun in the morning, so we have to be careful about things fading. Most of the time, I’m just helping people try things on and walking back and forth to the storage area. My shoes are usually worn out from all the walking I do inside the shop. We get a lot of students and office workers coming in during their lunch breaks. The floor is a bit scuffed up from all the foot traffic over the years, but we think it gives the place some character. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the news when there aren't many customers. The Camp area has changed a lot since we started, with new buildings going up all around us. But we are still here, doing the same thing day in and day out. It’s steady work and we like being part of the neighborhood. It is just another shop on a busy road.
