Lucky Star Hair Salon

Our shop is number 2A in Amrut Park which is along the Nagar Road in Kalyani Nagar. There is a cake shop right nearby so we often get the smell of baking bread and sugar coming through the door in the mornings. It makes the place feel a bit more cheerful than a regular shop. The salon is a simple setup with a few chairs and some shelves for our shampoos and oils. Kalyani Nagar is a busy area so we get a lot of different people walking in. Some are in a hurry and some want to sit and talk for an hour while I work. The floor is grey stone and it stays cool even when it’s hot outside. I have a small radio that plays old songs and I usually hum along to them while I cut hair. Sometimes the spray bottle for the water leaks on my hand but I’ve gotten used to it over the months. The windows look out onto the parking area of the park so I can see who is coming and going. We keep a few towels drying on a rack in the back. It isn't a large operation but we have enough space to get the job done. People seem to like that we are easy to find and right next to where they buy their sweets. We stay open late most nights.
