Our studio is tucked away in Vithalwadi, right near the busy Hudson Circle. It’s a decent-sized space for what we do, but it’s usually packed floor to ceiling with all our gear. We’ve got lights, heavy tripods, and various backdrops leaning against the walls in almost every corner. It’s called Light N Shadows for a reason, though half the time we’re just crawling around on the floor trying to find where we left a specific lens cap or a roll of tape. The area around Hudson Circle is always moving, so there’s a lot of noise and energy when you step outside for a break. Inside the studio, we try to keep things a bit more controlled, though it gets messy very fast during a long shoot. We spend a lot of time just adjusting lights by a few inches to get things looking right. It’s not a polished, corporate-looking office at all; it’s more of a real working space where stuff actually gets made. We have old coffee mugs sitting around on every flat surface and notes scribbled on scraps of paper. Sometimes the acoustics in the room are a bit weird because of the high ceilings, but we’ve learned how to work with it over time. We don’t have a big reception desk or anyone to greet you at the front door. You usually just walk in and find us busy with a camera or a light stand. It’s a creative spot, and we like the grit.
