Laxmandas Gokuldas

You can find us over at Survey No 445 on the ground floor. We are right in Raviwar Peth, specifically on the Kharadi Road near the railway booking office in Chandan Nagar. It’s a busy spot to be in. Laxmandas Gokuldas has been operating from here for a good while. Being near the railway booking office means there is always someone walking past the window. It’s a ground floor space which makes it easy for people to just wander in if they need something. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait. The floor is made of that old stone that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Chandan Nagar gets quite crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home or going to the station. We keep the lights on late sometimes when there’s a lot of work to catch up on. Our desks are covered in notebooks and pens. We don’t use those fancy computer systems for everything, a lot of it is still handwritten in the ledgers. It feels more real that way. The street noise is just part of the background now, we hardly even hear the horns or the people shouting anymore. Raviwar Peth has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. We keep things simple and just focus on the daily tasks that come our way at Survey No 445.
