You can find us on the 2nd floor of the Pandhare Building, which is located at Survey No 140/4 in Bhelke Nagar, Kothrud. We are quite close to the Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, so there is always a bit of a cultural vibe in the air around here. The climb up to the second floor is good exercise, and once you get inside, the first thing you notice is the smell of oil paints and charcoal. The rooms are filled with easels, jars of dirty water, and half-finished sketches leaning against the walls. We have large windows that let in a decent amount of light, which is important when you are trying to get the colors right on a canvas. There is a bit of a creative mess everywhere, with pencils and erasers scattered across the wooden tables. People come in at different times of the day to sit and work on their drawings. It is usually pretty quiet, except for the sound of someone sharpening a pencil or the soft chatter of students talking about their work. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just the artwork that everyone is currently working on. It feels like a lived-in space where people aren't afraid to get some paint on their hands or their clothes. Kothrud is a nice area, and being near the theater means there is always something interesting happening nearby when we finish up for the day.
