Kunal Industries Pvt Ltd is located in the Sai Kunj Housing Society area over in Dhankawadi, Pune. It’s a bit of an interesting spot for an industry business because it’s tucked away near where people live. We have a workshop that’s always got some machine running, so there’s a constant low vibration in the floor. It’s a place where we wear old clothes because you’re bound to get some grease or metal shavings on you by noon. The air smells like oil and hot metal most of the time. We have a small office area off to the side, but most of the action happens on the main floor. The light is a bit yellow from the old bulbs we use, but it’s enough to see what we’re doing. We take our breaks outside near the gate to get some fresh air away from the machines. The guys who live in Sai Kunj are used to us by now, though we try not to be too loud too early in the morning. It’s a solid, practical place where we focus on the task at hand. There aren't any big meetings or corporate presentations here. We just look at the orders, get the machines started, and work until it’s time to go home to our families. It’s steady work and we’ve been doing it this way in Pune for a long time now. We just handle whatever comes through the gate each morning.
