Krushirayat Farmer Producer Company

Up here in Baheti Nagar, things move at a different pace. We are Krushirayat Farmer Producer Company and our base is House No.1450 in Barad. It is just a regular house where we keep our records and meet up to talk about the prices of seeds. Most of us are neighbors who have known each other for years. We decided to get together so we could buy things in bulk and maybe save a bit of money. Farming in this part of Barad can be tough when the rains are late. We do not have any big corporate backing, just a bunch of guys who know how to drive a tractor and when to plant. The office isn't much to look at, just some chairs and a desk covered in ledgers. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we end up sitting outside on the porch talking about the market. We deal with whatever the season throws at us. Last year was too wet, and this year looks like it might be too dry. We just take it day by day. If someone needs help with their harvest, we try to pitch in. It is more about getting the work done than anything else. There is always something breaking down or a fence that needs mending. That is just how life is for us here in the village.
