Krushinagari Farmers Producer Company is located in Sakora, which is part of the Nandgaon area in Nashik. Sanjay Bhavlal Shewale is the one who helps keep things running from his place. Nashik is famous for its farming, but it’s not always as easy as it looks on the outside. We have to deal with pests, changing weather, and finding people to help with the harvest. Our group in Sakora is mostly made up of neighbors who have been farming side by side for years. We decided to call ourselves Krushinagari to give us a bit of a formal identity when we talk to the banks or the seed suppliers. Sanjay’s house is where we keep all the records and where we sit down to figure out our budget. It’s a lot of work that doesn't involve a tractor, which is new for some of us. We are learning how to manage the business side of things as we go along. It isn't always smooth, and sometimes we have to redo the forms because someone made a mistake in the writing. But that's just part of the process of being a local producer. We are just trying to make sure our families can stay on the land and keep making a living from it without getting squeezed too hard by the market. We take things as they come and try to keep a positive outlook.
