Our office for Smita Export Pvt. Ltd. is on the 3rd floor of Hira Mansion. We are right opposite the Vanaz Factory in Kothrud, which is a landmark most people in Pune know. We’re actually situated right above the Pune Cantonment Bank. It’s a convenient spot because we can just run downstairs if we need to handle anything at the bank. The office itself is just a regular workspace. We’ve got some fans going and desks covered in shipping documents. Being opposite Vanaz means there’s always some noise and activity outside. We’ve been doing this export work for quite some time now. It’s a lot of back-and-forth emails and phone calls to make sure everything is on track. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the commute a bit of a mess, but we still show up. We aren't looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our job well enough that we can come back and do it again tomorrow. We know the chai wallah nearby pretty well, and that’s a big part of our daily routine. It’s a practical office for a practical business. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a map. Kothrud is a good place to be based, and Hira Mansion has been good to us. We’ve been here on the third floor for years and we’ve gotten used to the stairs.
