Kirti Novelties

Kirti Novelties is located at 1128, right opposite the Mandai Police Chowky in Budhwar Peth. We are on the 1st Cross of 1st Main in the Vinayakanagar area. If you know the Mandai area, you know it is the heart of the old city and it is always packed with people and vendors. Having the police chowky right across from us makes it easy for people to find the shop. It’s a bit of a maze around here with all the narrow lanes, but we’ve been here so long that we know every corner. The shop is small and filled to the ceiling with all kinds of novelty items. We have to use a ladder most of the time to reach the stuff people ask for. It gets really loud during the day with the market noise and the traffic, but we don’t mind it much anymore. We usually open up early to beat the heat and get everything cleaned up before the crowds arrive. It is a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see the same faces every time you stop by. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory; we just know where everything is by memory. The building is quite old and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it has a lot of character. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs a quick gift or a household item.
