Kartiki Classes

Kartiki Classes is tucked away in Shivaji Nagar. It’s specifically in the Gaothan area, which is very old-school Pune. If you know the Rokadoba Mandir, we are right near there. That mandir is a big part of the identity of this neighborhood. People come there for prayers and then they see our classes. Shivaji Nagar is always busy, but the Gaothan part has its own pace. We’ve been operating from here for quite a while. Pune 411005 is a central area, so a lot of people pass through. Our setup is simple. We don't have air conditioning or fancy chairs. Just benches and a board. It’s how we’ve always done it. Students from the nearby houses come over in the afternoons. It gets a bit lively when the batches change. We don't really do much advertising. Most of our students come because their brothers or sisters studied here before. It's a small community. We know the parents and we know the local shops. Being near the mandir gives a nice feel to the place. You can hear the bells sometimes. It’s just a local tutoring spot for the kids around here. We try to help them with their school work. It’s not a corporate business. It’s just Kartiki Classes in a small lane of Shivaji Nagar. We like being part of the local history in this Gaothan area. The building is old but it stays cool in the summer.
