Kamat Hospital

We’ve been here at Chapekar Chowk for quite a while now. If you know Gandhi Peth in Chinchwadgaon, you probably know how busy it gets around here during the market hours. Our building is right in the thick of things. Usually, the day starts pretty early when the shops around Chapekar Chowk begin opening their shutters. We see a lot of people walking by every day. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but that is just part of being in this part of Chinchwadgaon. The staff usually gets their morning tea from the small stall just down the street before things pick up. We don't have a fancy glass building or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we do our work. People usually find us because they live nearby or their family told them where Gandhi Peth is. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the daily flow of folks coming in. It can be a bit cramped when it's raining outside and everyone wants to stand under the porch, but we manage. The hallways are plain and we try to keep the benches in the waiting area decent enough for a sit-down. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the neighborhood like the back of our hands. It isn't a corporate setup where everything is shiny; it's just a local place where we show up every morning and do what needs to be done until the sun goes down.
