Our group is called Kalbhairi Mahila Farmer Producer Companylimited. We are based in a village called Hanimanal, which is in the Gadhinglaj area of Kolhapur. You can find us at House Number 475. It’s a small place, but it serves us well for our meetings. Most of the women here have been farming their whole lives. We decided to start this company to help ourselves get a better price for what we grow in our fields. Kolhapur is known for its farming, but it still takes a lot of effort to make a living these days. We don't have a big corporate office with computers everywhere. It’s more of a place where we sit and talk about what needs to be done. We deal with seeds, fertilizers, and selling the produce once it is harvested. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is talking at once and sharing their ideas, but that’s just how we are. We care about our families and our land more than anything else. Running a business is new to many of us, so we are learning as we go each day. We make mistakes sometimes with the forms or the math, but we just fix them and keep going. It’s important for us to be independent and have our own money. People in Hanimanal know where to find us if they need help. We aren't doing anything fancy. It’s just honest work by local women who want to see their community do well. That is all.
