Jijau Spandan Agro Producer Company Limited is run right out of H. No. 503 in Dattanagar. It is a regular house where we keep all our stuff and meet up. We did not see the point in getting a big fancy office when we have enough space here. Most of the people involved are neighbors or live just a few streets away. Dattanagar is a quiet enough place, and we like it that way. We spend our time figuring out how to get the most out of our small plots of land. Farming is getting harder every year with the costs going up, so we decided to band together. It is mostly just us sitting around a table with some chai, talking about what we should plant next or how to fix a broken pump. We are not experts at the business side of things, but we know how to grow things. There are always piles of sacks or tools sitting around the porch. Some days are slow and we just wait for the rain. Other days, everyone is running around trying to get things loaded up. We have had some tough times, especially when the market prices drop, but having the group helps. We are not polished or professional in the way city companies are. We are just folks from Dattanagar trying to keep our heritage alive and make sure our families are taken care of.
