Janta Raja Salon

Being in Sadashiv Peth means there is always something going on outside. Janta Raja Salon has been sitting here in Pune for a bit. It’s a simple place. We have the usual chairs and mirrors you’d expect when you walk in. The 411030 area is pretty traditional, so we fit right in with the other shops on the street. It gets crowded on weekends, especially when everyone wants to look decent for Monday morning. We don't do anything too complicated here. Just the standard stuff that people need. Some customers have been coming to us for years and years. They know where we are and they just walk in and take a seat. I spend most of my day standing on the floor. It can be tiring on the legs but it's what we do. The tea stall nearby is where I go when things get quiet for a few minutes in the afternoon. We don't have a website or any of that fancy modern stuff. Most people just know us by word of mouth from their neighbors. The shop isn't very big, but it’s enough for what we need to get through the day. Sometimes the power goes out, or the street gets dug up for some repairs, but we just keep the doors open and wait. It is a local life here in the heart of the city. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a shop in Sadashiv Peth where people come and go all day long and the fans just keep spinning.
