Janamai Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based in Hatadi, at the home of Prakash Babasaheb Naval, house number 153. It is a quiet place, but we keep busy with the farming business most of the year. A group of us farmers around Hatadi started this because we wanted a better way to manage our harvests. It is not a fancy operation by any means. We usually meet up on the porch or in the yard to talk about what needs to be done next. Most of the work involves gathering the produce from the different farms in the area and finding a place to sell it. We deal with whatever the local soil produces, which changes with the seasons. Sometimes it is grains, other times it might be vegetables. We do not have a professional manager or anything. We just do it ourselves. There is a lot of manual record-keeping involved, which can be a bit of a chore after a long day in the sun. We have had some tough years with the weather lately, but being a producer company helps us spread the risk a bit. People in Hatadi know us well, so there is a lot of trust involved in how we handle the money and the crops. We are not trying to be a big corporation. We just want to make sure the families here can keep farming. It is a straightforward way of working together to get things done.
