Living in Jamwadi, you get used to the pace of farm life pretty quickly. We aren’t a big corporation with a lot of money; we’re just local folks trying to get the best for our produce. Deepak’s house is where we meet and handle all the paperwork for the company. It’s a small space, but it’s enough for what we need. Yavatmal can be a tough place for farming sometimes, so we all have to stick together to make it work. We don't have any polished sales pitches. We just talk about the things that matter, like seeds and rain and how to get things to market. Jamwadi is a quiet village, and we like it that way. Most days, we’re out in the fields or sitting in the shade at H.No.2 discussing the next steps. It’s a lot of manual work and plain speaking. We started Jamwadi Farmer Producer Company Limited because it seemed like the right thing to do for the community. We just take it one day at a time and try to stay honest in everything we do. That’s pretty much all there is to it. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons here, so we try to get most of the heavy stuff done before noon. It's just the way things go around here in Yavatmal.
