We are based out of Tirthpuri in the Ghansawangi area. Jamkarpatil Rural Farmers Producer Company Limited was set up because the local farmers needed a way to deal with their harvests. We use Shri Ganesh Naryan Jamkar's place as our main point of contact. It’s a busy spot when the season is right. Most of us here have been farming for our whole lives, just like our fathers did. We don't really do the big city business style because that’s not who we are. We just want to make sure the people in the rural parts around here get a fair deal for their hard work. Dealing with the markets is always a headache, so doing it as a group helps a bit. The address is easy to find if you are in the village. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning, just a regular house where we keep things organized. Ganesh Jamkar is usually around if anyone has questions about the crops or the money. We talk about the weather a lot because that’s what matters most to us. Sometimes the crops are good, sometimes they aren't, but we stick together anyway. This company is just our way of looking after our own families and making sure the village keeps going. It isn't a complicated setup. We just collect the produce and see where it needs to go. That is basically all there is to it.
