Jagannath Hair Salon

Jagannath Hair Salon is a small shop located on Alandi Road in the Yerawada part of Pune. We are right near Patik Nagar, so we get a lot of people from the nearby houses coming in. The shop has been here for a long time, and it shows in the way the floor is worn down in front of the chairs. It’s just a simple, honest hair salon. We don’t have any fancy signs or neon lights. Every morning we start by cleaning the combs and getting the water spray bottles filled up. The road outside is very loud with all the traffic going towards Alandi, and sometimes the dust blows inside if we keep the door open. We mostly do basic haircuts and beard trims for the local men and boys. There is an old wooden bench where people wait, and they usually end up chatting about the local news or the weather. We don't try to push any products or extra services on anyone. You come in, get your hair cut, pay the usual price, and go about your day. It’s a rhythm we’ve had for years. The light inside isn’t the brightest, but we know these mirrors well enough to see what we are doing. When the sun goes down, we turn on the tube lights and finish up the last few customers before locking up the doors for the night.
