Isha Beauty Salon

I set up Isha Beauty Salon on the 6th floor of the J1 building in Amrut Ganga Society. It’s in Manik Baug, Pune, 411051. Being on the 6th floor means it is a bit more private than a shop on the main road, which my clients seem to like. It is near the Goyal Ganga area, so it’s easy for the ladies in the society to just walk over. The salon is basically just one room with a couple of chairs, a big mirror, and all my supplies for threading, waxing, and hair cutting. I don’t have any fancy assistants or a receptionist. It is just me here. I keep a pot of water boiling for tea and I have some magazines on the table for when someone has to wait. The view from the 6th floor is actually quite nice, especially in the evenings when the sun starts to go down. I started this because I liked doing hair and makeup for my friends, and eventually, it just became a real business. Most of the people who come in are neighbors or friends of friends. We talk about our families and what’s happening in the society while I work on their hair or eyebrows. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded if a few people show up at once, but we just move the chairs around and make it work. It’s a small, simple place where I spend most of my day.
